Today Rachel and I went to the butterfly exhibit at the Ft. Worth Botanical Garden. She's been so excited!
But first we went to lunch at the Purple Cow......
and she had a purple milkshake (which she loved)
and a grilled cheese sandwich and macaroni and cheese.
Then on to the butterfly exhibit....
We loved it!!!
(being a butterfly and flapping her wings)
Then we went out to the gardens to check out the flowers. She loved the daffodils and walking around asking me what every sign said with the name for every kind of tree, shrub, flower or grass.
It was a great day....she decided it was a "10" on a scale of 1 to 10!!
I'm making these new style bows....they are so cute and fun....completely out of my usual way of making them. The ribbons don't always match, they have tulle and feathers in them and some kind of cute bling in the center! I love them!
Every single day I am having to remind myself to "trust Him".... I often want to try to control things, to do things my way, to have things in life turn out the way I want them to be. I have to "let go" and trust......
"For I know the plans I have for you", declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
Every morning this is becoming more and more of my routine. I read, study, look at photography sites, seek inspiration in my everyday life and take hundreds of "practice" shots. I am so passionate about learning more about how to be a better photographer. I want to see the details of life in a new way and to capture them, to remember the colors, the light, the beauty that surrounds me. I feel like I have learned so much but have so very much to learn.
We worked in the yard almost all day today getting ready for spring. We cleaned out flower beds, trimmed shrubs and grasses, and pruned rose bushes. The sun was shining, the skies were the beautiful shade of blue that I love so much, and I feel spring getting closer!!
I am a follower of Jesus Christ, blessed by His love, grace and mercy. I have been married to my husband for 30 years. He is an awesome man of God, bold, courageous, authentic "what you see is who I am" kind of man who loves me, teaches me, forgives me, and makes me very happy. I have 2 wonderful grown children- a son and a daughter, as well as a daughter-in-law and son-in-law who I consider my own. I am "Nana" to the joy and delight of my life - a beautiful 6 year old grandaughter, a sweet and adventurous 4 year old grandson, a happy blue-eyed 2 year old grandson,a sweet dark-eyed 2 year old grandaughter and another grandson on the way! I have been blessed beyond what I deserve and I am thankful.
