17/365 01/17/10 Baby Shower and Birthday Celebration!

Yesterday I went to Jackie's baby shower (it had to be postponed because of the birth of Madie). She got lots of good stuff and Rachel and Madie looked so cute in their "big sister"/"little sister" shirts. And Madie is already wearing big bows in her hair!

Miles came to the shower too!

Later that evening, we celebrated Mike's birthday with a cookout and cake. Rachel and Drew sang Happy Birthday and Rachel helped Big Daddy blow out the candles....

And everyone loved holding Madie! I also got the first photo of the "4 ones" as Drew says. It was a great day!!

16/365 01/16/10 And now there are 4...

Two boys and two girls....how perfect is that? My son has 2 girls and my daughter has 2 boys. The way I see it God has blessed me with a double portion. I had a son and a daughter...the "perfect" family..... one of each....the best of both worlds. I loved the pink painted bedrooms, tutus, big hair bows, dance classes, slumber parties, drill team, giggling girls in my house, proms, and wedding dress shopping. I also loved the little boy "puppy" smell, cars and trucks, running and jumping, sitting in many, many bleachers watching many, many sporting events, the house full of boys, the proms, and being mother of the groom.
My time as a mother to little ones is done...finished. They are grown up with families of their own. Sometimes I'm sad about that...it went by way too fast and back then I didn't realize how much I was going to miss it.
BUT I now have TWO girls and TWO boys to enjoy, to love, to spend time with, to laugh with - double what I had...
I am so thankful.

12/365 01/12/10 Drew and Nana Time

Drew came over for some "Nana time" today. We went to feed the ducks, to McDonalds, and I took him to this grassy, dead, wintery field to take some photos of him.. He ran all over this place while I chased him, used sticks like swords (even stabbed me with "the sword" a couple of times when I wasn't looking), dug in the dirt, jumped, kicked, and just had fun. He is an adventurous, sweet, funny, and cute boy....I love him so much!!!

My prayer for you, my Drew, is that you will know Jesus Christ as your
Savior and what the cross means. I pray that you become a "warrior" for the kingdom of Heaven and that you would have a heart to love and worship God all the days of your life.
