273/365 12/28/09 Tutus and little boys????

****Now first of all - his Daddy is not going to be very happy with this post---so sorry Brad, I just couldn't help myself. He's too hilarious....
As I said I am obsessed.. Drew and family came over tonight and I was showing Ashley my adorable tutus. Drew wanted to see them too. I asked him if he wanted to try it on (because I REALLY wanted to see how they looked on -- just to make sure that they were as cute as I thought they were)
AND they are so cute!! Even on little boys.....

He also had to try on the headband with it....and wore it like a blindfold or a sweatband....

Miles had to get in on the fun......

And even Big Daddy had to try it.......

272/365 12/27/09 My new Obsession.....

I am completely obsessed...... I've gone from making hair bows to tutus!! I love love love these....they are adorable. First I was making one for new baby girl to take newborn pictures in (the little white one) and then one for Rachel (the bigger hot pink/aqua one). Then I was asked to take a one year old little girl photos this week so I made her a little hot pink one with turquoise trim. And now I can't stop....I've made a green and blue one, a green, white and hot pink one, a baby light pink one....and I have all kinds of ideas of color combinations......

270/365 12/25/09 Happy Birthday Jesus!!

"I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger." Luke 2:10-12

269/365 12/24/09 Christmas Eve....

This morning we woke up to this....snowing and the wind blowing like crazy!! I couldn't believe it was snowing on Christmas Eve! The plan was to go to my Mom and Dad's house in Hico for Christmas. One of my sisters wasn't going to be there and the other two decided that they couldn't come because of the weather but we headed to Hico.....

It snowed hard off and on and the roads were ok...

The snow was really beautiful ...

When we got to Mom and Dad's it was coming down hard.... Brad and Ashley and the boys arrived shortly after we did and we had lunch and gifts.

Drew was so sweet....hugging Memaw and Paw paw for the gifts...
Thank you Mom and Daddy for a good lunch and a quick little Christmas visit. But it didn't seem like Christmas without everyone there....

We wanted to leave early so that maybe the roads wouldn't be too bad. We left their house about 5:15. Shortly we realized that the roads were icy and slick. By 6:00, only a few miles out of Hico, Brad and Ashley slid off the road, in between oncoming traffic, missed 2 road signs and landed in a barbed wire fence. They were ok but very scared. Mike decided to put Brad, Ashley, Drew, Miles and I into his 4 wheel drive truck and he was going to drive their Yukon. We went very, very slow, 15 -20 mph. Miles was crying, Brad was tense, and I was a nervous wreck. We made it about halfway to their house and then the road was completely closed due to 3 jack-knifed and stalled 18 wheelers. We sat in one spot, without moving an inch, for 3 1/2 HOURS!! It was awful!! Traffic was backed up for miles!! Finally the tow truck came and moved the trucks and we headed for Granbury. We arrived at Brad and Ashley's house about 11:30 p.m. It took more than 6 1/2 hours to go 45 miles!! I wanted to kiss the ground and I thanked God for getting us there safely!! Needless to say....we spent the night in Granbury......

268/365 12/23/09 Christmas Date

Mike took me out tonight for dinner and to the mall for a little Christmas shopping. He's so good to me!!

267/365 12/22/09 Christmas......

"But the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High". Luke 1:30-31

266/365 12/21/09 Jesus is the Reason....

I saw this in someone's yard here in Weatherford. I love it that they took a public stand for what they believe....and yes..I believe that Jesus is the ONLY reason for the season.

265/365 12/20/09 Christmas Dinner....

We had a huge Christmas dinner, complete with turkey, cornbread dressing, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, green bean bundles, jello salad and rolls. My mother has cooked a traditional turkey dinner every year since I can remember and I thought it was time I started this tradition with my own family. It was the first time I had cooked a turkey in years and it turned out great. We all sat at the "big" dining room table and ate until we were stuffed. I love starting this tradition...

264/365 12/19/09 Wonderful Christmas Weekend!!

The kid and grandkids came over for a full, fun, loud, happy, excited, and wonderful 2 days of Christmas celebrations. We laughed, talked, ate too much, opened presents, decorated cupcakes, watched movies, played games, and enjoyed being together. I love my family!!!

It was Miles first Christmas....I think he had fun.....

And these two....they are cute.... crazy.... wild....loud....funny....sweet...and I can't remember what Christmas (or life) was like without them!!!

And what I wanted most of all for Christmas was a family photo...
So we set up the tripod and set the timer and we got this....Really good I think!
(and yes Lance and Brad wore tacky Christmas T-shirts)......
