93/365 06/28/09 Flowers From Drew and Big Daddy!

This afternoon we kept Drew (Brad was out of town and Ashley had to work). Mike took him to Wal-Mart to buy corn dogs for supper and they also picked out a bouquet of flowers for me. It was the sweetest thing....I was out in yard and Drew came out the back door yelling "Nana, Nana!" and here he came with a bouquet of flowers almost as big as he was! The look on his sweet little face was priceless--he was so proud... I loved it!!

92/365 06/27/09 Ashley's Baby Shower

Ashley's co-workers gave her and another nurse, Dee, a baby shower this afternoon. I didn't take any pictures but these. She got alot of nice gifts for Miles.

90/365 06/25/09 I love birds!!

I love birds....I just love them... I have lots and lots of birds flying around my yard, eating from my feeder, drinking from my bird bath and just sitting on my back porch. They always make me smile....

89/365 06/24/09 It's a GOOD day!!

I went to Jacksboro today and THIS is what I drove up to--Rachel running to my car....does it get any better than this???

After many many attempts at getting a picture of her where she wasn't under some covers or covering her eyes with anything she could pick up, I think I got a few good ones of her laughing at me. We had so much fun today....she's finally back to her old happy self after having a rough time with her tonsil surgery.

And I tried to take some pics of me and her (while holding out my camera). She was really posing and looking SO cute and I hate all of them of ME!!!! So upset....about that!! It's hard to get her to pose with me......

And I REALLY love this one......... It was a GOOD day!!!

88/365 06/23/09 Ready to Work Full Time....???

I'm not sure if I'm saying "Yea!! I sold some more bows!" or "Oh no, I might be working more than I thought...." . Today I went to one of my "bow stores" to meet with the owner to finalize an order for some cheerleader or school spirit hair bows. She had mentioned that she wanted several bows in the school colors of the teams in the surrounding towns, as well as her hometown colors. Well she ordered ALOT......which is great and I'm so excited that she likes my work but now I'm thinking hmmmm I think I better get busy, really busy..........

It was a very good day!

85/365 06/20/09 A new baby boy......

Add Image

I took this picture a couple of days ago and it's so sweet I just had to put it on my blog. Ashley is about 2 months or so from having another wonderful baby boy. It is so awesome and beautiful to see your child carrying a baby....creating life....adding to our family. I remember the sweetness of being pregnant....the wonder of being part of a miracle, having a new little person to love and to be loved by, the joys, the trials, the fears, the excitement, the unknowns of being a mother. It went by so fast....now another generation to love and thank God for.

Psalm 108:4 For great is your love, higher than the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies.

84/365 06/19/09 Summer Supper Group

Tonight was our first meeting of our "Summer Supper Group" with our church. We had two couples we had never met before, join us for spagetti and dessert at our house. It is a fun way to get to know new friends. We will meet again in July and August.

83/365 06/18/09 A Blue Sky-White Puffy Cloud Day!!

It has been a while since the sky was this blue. It seems like when the hot summer days in Texas start the sky is a very light blue, almost gray. I just LOVE it when the sky is this blue with white puffy clouds. It's a happy day!!

82/365 Lunch with Rhonda!

80/365 06/15/09 Scripture Memory...

Since Jan 1 I have been memorizing scripture with other women on Beth Moore's blog. Each month, the 1st and the 15th, we choose a new scripture to memorize and post it on her blog. In Jan 2010, she is having an event for all of us who have been participating and our ticket in is our index cards full of scriptures we have learned. My scripture for this time is Psalm 91:14-16.
"Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him. I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, Iwill deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation."

79/365 06/14/09 Tomatoes!!

Finally some of my tomatoes are turning red. The vines are just loaded but they have stayed green forever. I have picked one squash and one cucumber, too! Can't wait for more...

78/365 06/13/09 Family....

Ashley and Brad had a family "get-together" at their house today. They invited all the family to come over for dinner and she cooked out on the grill. Mom and Daddy, Janis, Andy, Peyton, and Paxton, Dee Dee and Mike and I were there. Janis' boys and Drew played like crazy.
I think everyone had a really good time.

77/365 06/12/09 Rachel's Tonsillectomy

Poor baby...I'm so sorry she had to have this but she did so good...was in by 9:15a.m., done, had 2 popsicles and out the door by 10:45a.m.
Thank you LORD for hearing and answering our prayers.

76/365 06/11/09 RAIN!!

It rained off and on all night and then more this morning--my flowerbeds are filled with water!!

75/365 06/10/09 Swim Lessons Cancelled..

Rachel is taking swim lessons this summer and she is doing SO good. From the first day she just did everything the teacher told her to do, even swimming underwater. She slid down the "big slide" too into the water over her head! She loved it...so I was going to watch her at one of her last lessons. We were all ready to go and on our way but a terrible thunderstorm came through and the lessons were cancelled..

74/365 06/09/09 Getting Ready for the new baby (with lots of help)...

Mike went to Ashley's to help her with the stripe that's going to be on one wall of Miles' room. Of course, Drew was going to do everything that Big Daddy was doing!!

73/365 06/08/09 Caterpillar or worm???

This was on my butterfly bush. I hope it's a caterpillar that will turn into a beautiful butterfly and not just a worm.......

72/365 06/07/09 I'm goin' to Bigs' house.....

Ashley called today and said Drew woke up saying "I'm goin' to Bigs' house".
Said it just like he was going to walk out the front door and drive to our house. So they came over and we had dinner and hung out. Isn't he sooooo cute?

71/365 06/06/09 My cutie bug...

Lance, Jackie and Rachel came over for church. After church we had dinner and hung out on the back porch. Rachel was relaxin' in the hammock. Isn't she soooooo cute?

70/365 06/05/09 Home!

It's good to be home, safe and sound. We didn't get sick or have any traumatic accidents like I feared. All is well with Ashley and the baby and Jackie and the baby as well as Rachel and Drew (and Lance and Brad!). Mom and Daddy are well. My house is just like we left it and my flowers and garden is beautiful. God is good to us! Thank you Lord for your gift of this trip.
It was wonderful!

69/365 06/04/09 Leaving the Amazon

Leaving our cruise ship at 5:30 a.m. (4:30 a.m. Texas time)
Sun coming up at the airport in Manaus. Good bye Brazil.

68/365 06/03/09 Meeting of the Waters, Piranha Fishing, Monkeys, Sloths

Here is the place where the Amazon River (the muddy water) and the Rio Negro River (the dark water) join. From this point they flow to the sea.

Our last boat tour was looking for animals and piranha fishing.

Our guide, Frank, spots a three-toed sloth....

curled up in the tree. So he just reaches into the tree and pulls him out!

Then we see one monkey and Frank teaches us to do monkey calls. Several more came over and we fed them bananas.

Momma with baby on her back.

I got to feed them. I was a little scared at first but they were very calm and softy took the banana.

Two monkeys--the one on the left is the momma with a baby on her back.

Piranha Fishing....they kept eating my bait...

Black Piranha

Look at those teeth!!
Our last night on board..captain's farewell dinner.
