211/365 10/27/09 Time for another doctor visit...

Today I met Jackie at the doctor's office for her 2 week visit. She is still on bed rest, her doctor continues to be concerned, and we are praying for another few weeks (at least 4) until baby girl makes her entrance into the world.

"The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Philippians 4:5-7

Today was a beautiful day and we went to the Texas Country Reporter Festival in Waxahachie. There were lots of wonderful arts and crafts, music, and food. Many of the artists were very inspiring- overcoming multiple handicaps to create the art that they sell. We had a great day!!

207/365 10/23/09 Learning to sing....

The winds can rage, the sky can be dark, and yet a bird can sit in the hollow of a tree and sing the most beautiful song. The bird is created to sing and God has given it the song. The bird does not sing because of the storm but in spite of the storm. In the same way, there is a point in the trial where finally you are able to turn from despair to trust in the love of God. At long last, you see truths that stand firm, no matter the darkness. Those truths give you a reason to rejoice. They become the words of the song that God gives you in the dark night of the soul. And then, you can finally sing." - from "Pilgrimage of the Heart" by Catherine Martin

206/365 10/22/09 Miles 2 Months Old....

Miles is now 2 months old-- wow has time flown by!! He's grown alot. He is smiling, holding his head up, is sleeping good, and his eyes just get deeper blue. He loves his little eat, play, sleep routine. He is very wiggly, scoots on the floor already and gets very upset when the car stops and he was napping!! He loves to be talked to, is so cute and cuddly, and
I love him so much!!

205/365 10/21/09 Visit with Jackie...

Ashley, Miles and I went to Jacksboro to visit with Jackie who is confined to her house on bed rest because of early contractions. She is now almost 26 weeks along and I am thankful for each week....
Hold on and grow baby girl!!!

And Rachel got to feed baby Miles by herself...she was so excited!!

204/365 10/20/09 Sad Day.....

Jesus said, "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted" Matt 5:4
We went to a funeral for a good friend and employee today. It was a sad day....and I was reminded again how short and fragile life is.

203/365 10/19/09 Fall Color..

202/365 10/18/09 I finally got one....

Remember this.....back in Sept when I tried to get a picture of my 3 grandkids...and this is the best I got??????

Right before we left for the football game the other night, Rachel wanted to hold Miles. Drew jumped up in the chair beside her to hold him too....and I grabbed my camera for the fastest photo shoot ever. Well I got a few cute ones!! (I don't know why I didn't sit Miles up a little bit and position him better - but oh well-- at least a got them). Rachel and Drew were laughing and being silly and Miles just rolled with it ....even though he looks a little scared in a few. At least I got one....or two!

I love these kids!!!!

201/365 10/17/09 Fall Party at Drew's House...

Ashley and Brad had a fall party for all Drew's friends and family- complete with a bounce house, cupcake decorating, pumpkin painting and cotton candy! It was a perfect sunny fall day and the kids (and Nana) had a wonderful time....

And even Miles dressed up.....

200/365 10/16/09 Pumpkins and more football....

Rachel spent the night with us and we had a really fun day of shopping for clothes, feeding the ducks, and getting pumpkins and mums to decorate our front porch.

Later we went to the Jacksboro football game with Rachel, Brad, Ashley, Drew, and Miles. Drew was so excited about the "hootball" game and seeing his uncle "Ance". They had a great time!!
