183/365 09/29/09 Trusting....

This hangs on my wall over my computer. I need to be reminded of all that God has done in our lives.
Today Jackie had a doctor's appointment and she is going to be on bed rest for awhile, maybe the rest of the pregnancy. It's going to be a long road....18 weeks until her due date (Jan 30).
Whatever it takes....
And I remember.....Rachel - 3 lbs. 12 oz.---35 weeks
I am trusting Him......

182/365 09/28/09 Last of the Season........

I think these are the last vegetables I am going to pick from my garden this season.... I loved my little garden and I learned alot - like put the tomato cages over the plants BEFORE they get too tall and full to fit and plant squash plants a least 3 - 4 feet apart!
I can't wait for next year.

181/365 09/27/09 28 Years.......

It's our 28th anniversary today!!! A beautiful bouquet of flowers,

dinner from Central Market - herb roasted chicken, rosemary potatos, green bean almondine, pasta salad with dill, french bread..... yummy!

And my very own individual Creme Brulee!! Perfect for a nice quiet dinner-- just us!!

And then out for a movie....!

I love this man so much...He makes me so happy.

In 28 years - well let's just say we've been through alot. It took us many years to get to the point where we are today. Lots of learning and changing, talks and tears. But the changing didn't come from us, it came from God-- completely and totally from Him. We had lived and tried to have a good marriage for years before we just couldn't make it work anymore. That's when we knew we needed help. Help to love each other, help to forgive each other for the years of not meeting each others needs, each others expectations, for hurt feelings, for things said. We needed help to get to know- really know - the other one and to accept them for who they were.
And God changed our hearts. He really did!! I can't explain how but I know when. One minute we were ready to call it quits and the next we loved each other again-- just enough to try. Gradually He filled our hearts with love again, with joy again, with excitement at the possibility that things could be good, real, deep, and different than ever before. And it has been.....day by day...as we let God into the deepest places of our souls...He has given us this relationship. And words can't express my gratitude and awe in His works......

Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations. Psalm 100: 4-5

180/365 09/26/09 Happy Day...

Ashley and Miles flew out today to Phoenix to see her friend Jenni. Miles was wide-eyed and ready to go....

We kept Drew while Brad took Ashley to the airport and to see his friend Lee. We went to feed the ducks...Drew loved it....especially when he could throw his corn from the safety of the picnic table.... (those ducks are big and aggressive)!!

Look at those eyes!!!

Then our good friends, Weldon and Barbara, sent these roses over for our anniversary....that was SO NICE!!! I love them!!!

And later I had dinner with some VERY SPECIAL women in my life....we talked, laughed, cried a little, remembered, shared secrets, and really loved each other.....I think it was a very important night for us.....

179/365 09/25/09 Beautiful Day....

177/365 09/23/09 Last of the Monarchs......

Well I've noticed that there are fewer and fewer monarchs in my backyard.....just a week or two ago there were 100's and now I see maybe 4 or 5....I guess the migration is coming to an end and most have arrived safely in Mexico for the winter. This one looks like he's flown many miles and weathered a storm or two.... I will miss them!!

And this is the cutest Monarch of all!!!

176/365 09/22/09 First Day of Fall....a very full day!!

Today is the official first day of fall and I enjoyed the cooler weather. I love fall but I'm dreading winter -- the first frost when all my flowers die, the shorter days when it is dark before 6, and the cold days when I can't get my feet warm no matter what I do! But for now I will just enjoy these nice days.......

Today was also a scary and anxious day....Jackie started having contractions a few weeks ago. They have been minimal most days but today she was having too many and they had to make a trip to the hospital. The doctor gave her some medication to stop them and sent her home to be on bed rest for a week.....It's way too early to start this, baby girl.......

And finally, looking through my blog, I realized that I have posted alot of pics lately of Miles and Rachel and not many of Drew....so here's to my oldest grandson-- wild, energetic, adventurous, happy (most of the time and if he's not happy he's tragically brokenhearted), silly, funny, living life to the absolute fullest with never a quiet or still moment, who likes to do "cool" tricks, dance, jump off things and on things, to throw whatever he can get away with ( even his food), wants to "do myself", who can unload my pantry shelves faster than a speeding bullet, and says "Big Daddy is my best friend"!!! I love you very much Drew~~~ (even though I need a nap after you're here).......!!!

175/365 09/21/09 Poor baby Miles....he feels awful...

Miles started getting sick on Sat. night. He sounds congested, is coughing, has had a little fever, is fussy, and just plain don't feel good.... We went to the doctor today and everything looked ok -- breathing good, no fever, strep test negative.. Doctor said it must just be a virus that has to run it's course and to watch him for more fever and other signs that he's getting worse. Poor little Miles...it's hard to see him like this....We are praying that he gets better soon~~ real soon!!

It was a beautiful day!!!

173/365 09/19/09 Planning a fall trip to Maine.......

I've been having so much fun planning our fall trip --looking up things to do and places to go!! I can't wait. New England in the fall is one of the most beautiful places ever!!!

171/365 09/17/09 Happy One Month Birthday Miles!!

Today Miles is one month old.....and I went to Ashley's to take pictures of him. He had had a bad night -- hardly slept at all -- and he was very fussy this morning. I had all these ideas of poses and bought him this cute little hat, but he wasn't interested in Nana's photography plan. BUT I did get these shots and I love them!!! He looks so so sweet.......Happy 1 month Birthday Miles!!

170/365 09/16/09 Trip to Jacksboro

Went to Jacksboro today to deliver my bows and I couldn't resist stopping and picking up Rachel at Miss Kim's. She ran and jumped into my arms when she saw me. Awwww that's just the greatest thing!! I brought her some clothes and she put this dress on and loved it-- you see - it twirled...and what little girl doesn't like a twirly skirt? I took all these cute pictures of her while she posed away...I think she is starting to like the camera more than she used to......

And this sweet one of Jackie (20 weeks) and Rachel talking about the baby.....
