33/365 04/29/09 Dollar Tree Shopping...

Today Ashley had her doctor's appointment with Dr. Donahue in Stephenville. I went with her so I could keep Drew. To pass the time we went to the Dollar Tree so I could pick up some $1.00 reading glasses. Drew helped me pick them out --he had to try on every pair he could reach!!! Silly boy......

31/365 04/27/09 Backyard

My yard is getting prettier by the day. Almost all the flowers we planted last year are coming back in full force. I love my roses, they have been blooming for several weeks already and my day lillies have buds on them. The salvias are also blooming now. There are a few more things that I am going to plant soon but perennials are the best way to go--plant them once and then they just get better and better! I LOVE my flowers.

29/365 04/25/09 HE'S BACK!!!!!

My painted bunting is back!!! I love love love this bird!! He is so colorful- red, blue, green and yellow but very shy. I took these photos through my living room window and the wind was blowing the feeder like crazy. This elusive little bird has a special meaning to me. I "see" him as a little gift to me from God.....

28/365 04/24/09 Going on a Trip!!

This week we learned that we had won an awesome all expense paid trip to Brazil for a cruise down the Amazon river!! (Thanks to the hard work of our son-in-law in selling a carpet product) The trip was for the 60 top sellers in the nation and we happened to be 61st. BUT someone couldn't go and so we were the next ones on the list!!! The only challenge was that we don't have a passport and today was the last day to file for a travel visa. Without a passport you can't get a visa. So I was in a race to find someone to help us get all the proper documents together, get a money order, get passport photos taken, go to the post office, apply for a passport, register online for the travel visa, get more documents together, and rush to the FedEx office to overnight them to Washington. Hopefully we will have everything in order in time to go. It's going to be a trip of a lifetime!!!

27/365 04/23/09 My Sweet Husband

A couple of days ago I was having a really "down" day. My sweet husband brought home this plant stand and 4 hanging baskets. He also got me extra hooks so that I could hang my bird feeders on it too. He's SO good to me......

26/365 04/21/09 Attempted Bluebonnet Photos

Here in Texas everyone has a "thing" about taking pictures in the bluebonnets and I've REALLY been wanting to do that with the grandkids. I kept Drew today so I thought this would be a good opportunity to do just that. So I got him dressed in a shirt that I thought would be complimentary with the color of the flowers and drove to a place where I had seen a patch of bluebonnets. After walking up I realized that the flowers were a little past their peak but Oh well....I'm still going to get these great photos of Drew sitting among the flowers. Well.....I sat him down and he looked at me like -"what in the world are we doing?" and he had absolutely NO interest in posing for Nana's "important" pictures. He looked at all the cars and trucks that passed by, at an airplane that flew over, he looked down--anywhere except at the camera and then finally after alot of coaxing....

He gave me his "best" smile.....

BUT.....put him in his carseat, go to the bank and get a sucker.....
And this kid will pose ALL day.....

(Should have went to the bank first!!!)

25/365 04/21/09 Praying for Stellan

I am totally blown away by the response to pray for this little 5 month old baby boy, Stellan. His mom asked that we wear orange in support of him on her blog site http://www.mycharmingkids.net/. He was having heart surgery today and people around the world, thousands of them, wore orange for Stellan and prayed for God to work a miracle in his life. The posts started this morning and every 5-10 minutes there would be 10-20 more photos of people praying for Stellan. I don't understand what God's purposes are in this but I am in awe at how God works and how He can unite the body of Christ for this one precious baby.
"May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ." Romans 15: 5-6

24/365 04/20/09 Baby's Growing and Esther Bible Study

Ashley had her doctor's appointment with Dr. Howard in Ft. Worth this morning. Baby boy Cooper looked great, got to "see" on sonogram his little hands and feet. She is 22 weeks and baby is up to almost 1 pound now! Thank you Lord for this little life!
And then tonight starts our Beth Moore Bible Study on Esther. It's going to be great! Love any study by Beth.

Julie drove all the way from Dublin to do the study with me. I love it!!!

23/365 04/19/09 God's Color

I am facinated with the color of the sky when it's the deep, clear, bright blue color that cannot be duplicated by any paint or ink and even photos don't do it justice. It is truly God's unique color to me. Add the white puffy clouds and I see beauty that most people don't. I can just stand and stare at the sky trying to soak it into my soul. On top of that, Rachel tells me that she "sees" God in the white clouds. Wow....I think she sees what I do......God in all His majesty and glory...."For Your mercy and loving-kindness are great, reaching to the heavens, and Your truth and faithfulness to the clouds." Psalm 57:10

21/365 04/17/09 Rainy Day

I've wanted a rain guage for a long time, just never would think about buying one until it rained. So about a month ago I finally got one and put it out on my fence. Well today it rained alot, water standing everywhere, really muddy...went out to look and see how much and my guage said only an inch. I think it must be wrong...surely it's more than that.....

19/365 04/15/09 The BIG Cheese!

When I'm trying to take a photo of Drew it's so hard sometimes to get him to look at the camera and especially to smile at the camera. Well instead of telling him to "say Cheese" and smile, now I say "give me your BIG CHEESE" -- and this is what I get!!! Hilarious!!
