121/365 07/28/09 Pipevine Swallowtail

This butterfly, a pipevine swallowtail, was hard to get a good shot of since he never stops moving his wings even when feeding. The blue is bright and iridescent in the sun and he has 7 orange spots on the underside of his wings!! He's very beautiful and rare to see in my garden.

119/365 07/26/09 Babysitting Drew

Brad asked me to keep Drew so he could surprise Ashley and take her out on a date!! We had fun playing cars, balls, throwing rocks, and just being silly. He loves to line his cars up and make a train out of them. He's a ball of energy and is never still for more than a minute!! We had alot of fun and so did Ashley and Brad.

118/365 07/25/09 Butterfly in my garden.....beautiful.

I often think God could have made the butterflies all alike or just plain brown or gray but He didn't. He chose to make a seemingly insignificant creature so beautiful with colors and patterns and details--each one is different. I love taking pictures of butterflies...right now my backyard is filled with them. There are monarchs and swallowtails, yellow ones, orange ones, little ones and big ones flying around constantly. I counted 11 monarchs on my blue mist flowers at the same time. I have big fat bumble bees and all kinds of birds, especially hummingbirds at my feeder. I love it that they have taken up residence where I can see them, and enjoy them. Just like I imagine my heaven........

Giving Miles a kiss..

115/365 07/22/09 Sewing Softies

When Rachel was born I made her these little blankets and we called them softies. She became very attached to them and she still sleeps with them 4 years later. When Drew was born, I made more "softies"--(he calls them "saucies") in different colors and he loves them too! Today I made softies for Miles- in new colors and prints so that he would have different ones than Rachel and Drew. I hope he loves them too!

114/365 07/21/09 Grandbaby #4!!

Went with Jackie (and Rachel) to her doctor's appointment and another sonogram. We got to hear the baby's heartbeat!! -- what an awesome sound.

Rachel was very interested in what was going on.....

Then the sonogram.....all I can say is how thankful I am for my 4th grandbaby....Seeing him (or her) so early (11 weeks 6 days) in 4D....oh my it was so detailed. We saw his fingers and toes and he was moving around, raising his arms above his head and rubbing his face with his hands...just awesome what God can do in such a short time.... beautiful little baby...Oh... and Rachel really got excited to see the baby and she was especially excited about the printed pictures. She could hardly wait to get them in her hands!!
Here he (or she) is in 4D!

Jackie was excited too!

And we also celebrated Jackie's birthday with lunch at Chili's. It was a wonderful day!

"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well
. " Psalm 139:13-14

111/365 07/17/09 Another Good Day with Rachel and Drew....

Today was the last day with Rachel. Lance and Jackie are coming home tonight. Ashley had a doctors appointment so Drew came over to play....and play they did. They were so cute and a little wild, of course. They love each other SO much and I am so thankful for how well they get along and play together.

I thought I would let them help me water my flowers--which they did....and after that they watered everything else, including each other! They giggled and laughed and played....and I giggled and laughed and took pictures. They were so funny...

We also went to lunch at the Purple Cow, did a little shopping, and Rachel and I went to the see Ice Age 3. What did I do before grandkids??

108/365 07/14/09 Beach in Granbury.

We went to the "beach" in Granbury on the lake. It was so nice and we had so much fun playing in the water and sand with the kids. Rachel saw the palm trees that were there and had no idea that we were not at the "real" beach!!

They had so much fun playing with Big Daddy.

It was a good day!!
