After washing, slicing, soaking in pickling lime overnight, soaking in ice water 3 hours, soaking in the syrup for 5 hours, and then boiling for 45 minutes and putting into hot jars and sealing---we are finished!!! I had a great time learning (although the boiling vinegar mixture smelled up the house and the fumes burned my eyes to tears) but it was well worth it!
